Lobby group heads to Brussels
A delegation of business leaders from Greater Manchester are travelling to Brussels next week to meet with local MEPs and lobby on key issues.
Representatives from Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and professionals organisation Pro Manchester will form part of the delegation visiting Brussels on 14 October.
The delegation will meet with Arlene McCarthy and other European Members of Parliament to discuss transport, business finance, employment and skills.
Angie Robinson, chief executive of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: "This is an excellent opportunity to raise a variety of key business concerns with our European representatives. In particular we are keen to quiz our local MEPs on the important issues highlighted in our recently launched business manifesto, including transport infrastructure, skills and employment regulation."
Sue Webster, chairman of Pro Manchester, said: "This is a key opportunity to ensure our European representatives understand what matters to our members in securing an environment in which they can do business. It is also a great example of Manchester's ability to collaborate and represent the city's business and professional community on things that affect all of us."
