Liverpool lettings aid Splash deal flow

Urban Splash has completed regional deals on around 24,000 sq ft of commercial space in the last quarter, the developer has said.

In Liverpool, the 2018 refurbishment of the Tea Factory has started to pay off, with Splash securing a 4,000 sq ft letting to sports data company Football Radar. Splash is currently amid a six-figure overhaul at the Matchworks in Speke, where tenants Dermaplane UK and North West Air Ambulance have collectively taken almost 6,000 sq ft.

At the Boat Shed in Salford Quays, the company has completed 3,426 sq ft of deals, welcoming travel group Black Opal, card payment company Goodbox and cycle training business Bikeright.

The deals follow a December pre-let of 10,696 sq ft to The Prince’s Trust at Beehive Mill, the former home of Sankeys nightclub, which the developer acquired in February 2017.

Commercial director Emily Handslip said: “We are immensely proud of the huge range of businesses that come to an Urban Splash space each day to innovate and create.

“Our new tenants perfectly demonstrate how we can provide a great base for not only for the larger, more established businesses within the region but also the entrepreneurs and start-ups that benefit from working in a community of like-minded people.”

Outside of the region, the business has secured an 8,900 sq ft letting to boutique cinema operator Everyman at its Royal William Yard development in Plymouth.
