Liverpool approves Baltic Triangle mixed-use scheme

A 216-space multistorey car park and almost 24,000 sq ft of office space feature within proposals put forward by developer Lee Siadankay.

Liverpool City Council has approved the Baltic Triangle scheme, which will see an existing warehouse on Jamaica Street demolished.

In its place, Siadankay wants to build a five-storey car park and seven-storey office block on the plot, located close to Baltic Creative and Camp and Furnace.

The ground floor of the development will feature around 8,000 sq ft of commercial space suitable for retail or hospitality occupiers.

Entrance to the offices and retail component of the scheme would be from New Bird Street, Greenland Street, and Jamaica Street.

MCAU is the architect and the Planning Studio advised on the application.

AEC Acoustics, Shape Engineer, SCP Transport Consultants, Collington Winter Environmental, and Rob Burns Heritage are also advising on the proposals.

The application’s reference number with Liverpool City Council is 22F/1113.

It is essential that this office/car park project runs smoothly, it will be an asset to the area so hope to see demolition commencing quite quickly and then construction to soon follow.
It would be disastrous if we end up with a surface car park ,as the Baltic developments generally around Jamaica Street have slowed down of late , except for Parliament Square of course, meanwhile there is still a large amount of scruffy looking land that needs building on.
