Langtree hits landmark at £35m Hollinwood Junction
A £2m package of infrastructure works has completed at the developer’s Oldham project, with Costa Coffee’s drive-through now open.
The completion of the infrastructure works by contractor I&H Brown has unlocked a site previously taken up by a redundant gasholder.
A programme of technical work is under way to support the next phase of development, which Langtree is delivering in a long-term partnership with Oldham Council.
Contractor Stainforth Construction built the Costa Coffee unit and handed it over to the client on time.
Simon Foden, group senior development manager at Langtree, said: “We’re looking forward to moving onto the next phase and creating more jobs and infrastructure for the people of Oldham.”
Hollinwood Junction, where Langtree was originally selected in 2007 before the project stalled for several years, is expected to create 760 jobs and incorporate retail, leisure, employment and up to 150 family homes. Euro Garges operates an Esso at the site, while plans are in motion for housing on a 14-acre three-parcel plot within the masterplan.
The site is high-profile, sitting directly at Junction 22 of the M60, south west of Oldham town centre.
Langtree this month reported a £2.3m annual profit, and recently received the go-ahead for the 1m sq ft first phase of development at Parkside Colliery, an industrial development being advanced with St Helens Council.
