Landowner moves to cash in on Everton stadium hotel site

Having secured planning approval for an 80-bed scheme directly opposite the Toffees’ new stadium earlier this year, the owner is now looking to sell the site on.

Rohan Hughes has appointed Eddisons to find a buyer for the Blackstone Street plot. The landowner had been working with Fast Growth Homes to get the project through planning.

Atelier Two Architecture advised on design.

Proposals for 80 guest bedrooms at the junction of Regent Road and Blackstone Street were signed off by Liverpool City Council in June.

The project features both new-build and refurb elements; the grade two-listed 15-17 Fulton Street will be brought back into use while a new five-storey building will be constructed on the adjacent corner plot.

The site sits directly across from Everton FC’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, where the Blues will play from August.

Marketing materials for the opportunity state that the project “lies within a new hotels district to the north of Liverpool city centre, complementing the new stadium and surrounding developments”.

With the new season less than a month away, development in the area around the ground is picking up.

At Collingwood Dock, a shipping container hospitality scheme is planned.

This site needs developing ASAP, as a number of adjacent properties on Regent Rd are being spruced up, some at great expense, in readiness for the influx of fans for football games and other events.
No surprise then that Fast Growth Homes have passed on this one.

I take back what I said on that other story – this must be the laziest design I’ve seen to date.

This won’t be ready for this season why the delay

@ Tom 6.15pm, when PNW reported on this scheme earlier this year it stated FGH had no intention of starting any work until 2026. That was the clue to their intentions as any enthusiastic developer would be keen to start building right away. The sooner readers realise that FGH are buyers and sellers of land and property things will be clearer.
