Kirkham appointed head of Liverpool at CBRE

Shaping the city region’s future is one of Neil Kirkham’s three priorities for his new role leading the consultancy’s Merseyside division, alongside investing and expanding the agency’s team, and providing unparalleled advice to clients.

Kirkham’s promotion from senior director to head of the Liverpool office for CBRE follows more than a decade with the company, which is also where he started his career as a graduate surveyor. In between his graduate surveyor days and rejoining the company in 2012, Kirkham worked at Hitchcock Wright & Partners.

In his new role, Kirkham will lead CBRE’s staff of 36 out of its office at 4 St Paul’s Square.

“I am immensely proud and excited to take on the role of head of CBRE’s Liverpool office after nearly 14 years with the firm,” Kirkham said.

“Liverpool is a dynamic, growing city, and my primary goal is to build upon the outstanding growth our team has achieved, ensuring we remain the leading advisor in the city region.”

CBRE is heavily involved in the Liverpool City Region, and is the current letting agent and property manager of the iconic Royal Liver Building. The group secured the largest Liverpool office deal of the year when Liverpool John Moores University signed a lease for 24,360 sq ft at City Square.

More than just office agents, CBRE’s Merseyside division is currently advising the city council on a gateway site at Great George Street, seeking the best way to attract new homes and businesses to the site. The company also provides strategic advice to LJMU, the University of Liverpool, and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

Kirkham’s appointment as head of the Liverpool office at CBRE is part of the company’s wider UK regional leadership strategy. In addition to Kirkham’s promotion, Mike Baugh has become head of Leeds and Angela Lowe has been made head of Edinburgh. All three will step into their new roles on 1 January.

John Ogden, managing director for UK regional markets at CBRE, said: “These appointments underscore our ongoing commitment to continue to invest in our regional leadership across the UK.

“Angela, Mike, and Neil each bring exceptional market knowledge and client relationships that will be instrumental in driving continued growth and delivering outstanding results for our clients.”

Nice one Kirks

By Peter G

Be good for PNW to talk to him about what’s happening at Great George St and Chinatown, surely can’t be that difficult to get a mixed-use, high density development down there right opposite a world class cathedral view.
The new Baltic rail station should be a major plus too, whenever it gets on site.
