Kingswood pushes on with 280 more Blackburn homes
The Lancastrian developer’s next five plots within the Gib Lane masterplan have been put forward for reserved matters approval.
Outline approval has already been secured for the 280 homes on land off Broken Stone Road.
The Gib Lane masterplan was adopted by Blackburn with Darwen Council in September 2015, since when Kingswood Homes, Wainhomes and Story Homes, with the 205-home Sycamores, have each taken forward developments.
The masterplan covers a plot south of Blackburn town centre, between Junctions 3 and 4 of the M65. Covering nearly 136 acres, it is expected to deliver 621 homes over 10 years.
The new application covers phases 7-11 of the Green Hills residential development, of which the first two phases are complete, the third, of 52 homes, is on site, with phases four to six now consented with work about to start.
The 280 homes break down into 12 two-bedroom homes, 63 three-bedroom homes, 62 four-bedroom homes, 116 five-bedroom homes and 27 six-bedroom homes.
Green Hills is based around two village greens, with around 60 house designs by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway.
The professional team also includes ecology advisor Haycock & Jay Associates, Riley Landscape, PDP Associates and environmental consultancy Ironside Farrar.
