Kingswood adds 280 homes in Blackburn
The housebuilder has put forward a hybrid application for up to 280 homes as part of Blackburn’s wider Gib Lane masterplan.
Representing the next three phases of Kingswood’s Green Hills development, the hybrid application is split between outline consent for up to 280 homes with full consent for 155 houses.
The first three phases of the project have already progressed; phase one, featuring 61 houses, is complete while the second phase is currently on site. Kingswood has also completed a land acquisition to bring forward phase three, which includes 52 houses with planning consent secured earlier this year.
Blackburn with Darwen’s masterplan for Gib Lane, brought forward in 2015, covers a plot south of the town centre, between Junctions 3 and 4 of the M65. Covering nearly 136 acres, it is expected to deliver 440 homes by 2026.
The professional team on Green Hills include ID Partnership and Hemingway Design.
Kingswood managing director Paul Jones said: “The Green Hills development is a great success and shows what can be achieved by pushing the boundaries to deliver exceptional homes in an exceptional setting. Phase two is progressing well and phase three will complete the first character area within the wider masterplan.
“Submitting outline plans for phases four, five and six underlines our commitment to the development, to Blackburn and to the wider community.”
