Jonathan Pochin to leave family firm
The managing director of Pochin Construction has taken the decision to leave Pochin’s, the Cheshire-based developer and contractor, early in the New Year.
According to the board of the company, no further changes are envisaged to the established construction management team consisting of; Jim Alexander, operations director; Eddie Bredenhann, business development and marketing director, and Mark Hatton, commercial director, together with Jim Nicholson, chief executive of Pochin’s.
Pochin’s was taken private by Nicholson in July 2014 after 50 years as a publicly listed company. Nicholson is the grandson of founder Cedric Pochin and was a director of Pochin Property, the development arm of the business. Jonathan Pochin was director of Pochin Construction and was appointed to the board when the company was delisted.
Commenting on his time with the business, Pochin said: “Working as part of the family business, founded 80 years ago by our grandfathers, has been an honour and a privilege, and I’m extremely proud to have been part of the company’s heritage and success. With the company celebrating its 80th anniversary, I felt now was the perfect time to embark on a new personal challenge, knowing that Pochin’s will thrive under the current leadership team.”
Nicholson said: “Jonathan leaves with our best wishes and, speaking on behalf of everyone at Pochin’s, I’d like to thank him for the passion and dedication he has shown towards the business. Jonathan departs with the business well set for 2016.”
There was no comment as to whether Pochin would be replaced as managing director, and where he would be moving to.
