JLL’s McLaughlin moves to CBRE

After 16 years as the consultancy’s residential director, Kieran McLaughlin has been appointed to head up the rival firm’s sector operations in the North.

In his new role, McLaughlin will lead CBRE’s residential land and development team covering the North of England, as the real estate consultancy seeks to grow its residential service offering.

McLaughlin joined JLL’s Manchester’s office in 2005 after four years with consultancy GVA, which was later acquired by Avison Young. He has built up a reputation as one of the market-leading agents in the North, advising on some of the biggest residential developments and deals in the region. His client base has spanned institutional funds, multinational corporates and public sector bodies including Homes England, the NHS and the Ministry of Defence.

At CBRE, McLaughlin joins associate director Jessica Coombes and surveyor Ashley Anderson who focus on residential land transactions in the region that have included the sale of Tatton Estates Parkgate, Alderley Park in Cheshire, Salford Quay’s Pier 7 and the 22-acre former Robertson Jam Factory in Droyslden.

“This is a key appointment for us, to bring Kieran in to head up our residential land and development service across the North,” said John Ogden, CBRE’s managing director for the North.

“Kieran’s market-leading reputation is second to none and his experience will be invaluable in fulfilling our strategic growth plans.”

McLaughlin added: “CBRE has a best-in-class planning and development team and the opportunity to complement this by joining an already established team with Jessica and Ashley is hugely exciting.”
