JLL buys Bluu to boost interior design arm

JLL has acquired design and fit-out company Bluu as part of the expansion of its Tétris interior design business. Bluu has a Manchester office with 25 members of staff.

Bluu is based in Centurion House in Deansgate, Manchester.

The company recently worked with interior designer Space Invader to deliver a refurbishment of Churchgate House following Helical Bar’s acquisition in March 2014, as well as the fit out for Mediacom in Spinningfields.

JLL acquired Tétris in 2007. Since the start, the teams have delivered more than 4,000 projects for corporate, investor, retail and hotel clients.

Including the Manchester office, Bluu totals 120 people in offices across the UK.

According to a statement from JLL, after a transitional brand period Bluu will move fully under the Tétris brand in 2016, with the combined teams operating from Bluu’s existing offices.

The acquisition takes immediate effect, with the Tétris UK team set to relocate into the Bluu London offices later this year.
