Interserve secures £15m deal at Liverpool Women’s Hospital
Interserve has been chosen to extend and remodel the existing neonatal intensive care unit at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, its second major healthcare contract win in the city in the last 12 months.
Designed by architect Gilling Dod, the project includes improved facilities and new intensive care unit suites; high dependency unit suites, and a special care baby unit.
It is Interserve’s first project with Liverpool Women’s, and is due to start on site in September this year with a phased build programme of approximately 60 weeks.
The scheme is the contractor’s second major healthcare project in Liverpool to be secured in the past 12 months, after the company beat rival bidders Graham and Morgan Sindall to the £35m Rutherford Cancer Centre, which forms part of Paddington Village.
Work started on the project for client Proton Partners in January this year, and the first proton beam therapy treatment at the centre will be available in 2019.
