Homes England brings forward final phase of Sandymoor
Proposals for 250 homes on the last remaining parcel of land within the Runcorn masterplan have been lodged with Halton Council.
Homes England is seeking outline consent to redevelop 43 acres known as Sandymoor South phase two into housing.
The mix of homes is likely to comprise two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments, according to a planning statement by Hive Planning.
Homes England is seeking a 20% affordable provision across the scheme and 24 acres of the site are earmarked for public open space.
The masterplan, drawn up by Barton Willmore in 2009, has seen more than 1,500 homes consented to date, most of which have already been delivered by several housebuilders.
David Wilson Homes, Vistry Partnerships, Morris Homes, and Bloor Homes are all active in the area having bought chunks of the masterplan from Homes England.
Subject to planning approval, Sandymoor South phase two will likely be sold off to one or more housebuilders that will submit reserved matters applications to bring the homes forward.
Homes England is also in the process of drawing up plans for 600 homes on Wharford Farm, which borders Sandymoor to the south and is part of the Daresbury Strategic site.
