Health research group moves to science park
Liverpool Science Park has signed up the first tenant at the latest phase of its scheme on Brownlow Hill in the city centre.
The Cheshire & Merseyside Comprehensive Local Clinical Research Network (CLRN), a spin-out company from the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, delivers research reports in the field of health sciences.
The CLRN has chosen a 2,000 sq ft suite in the 38,750 sq ft second phase, called ic2, recently handed over by Neptune Developments.
Chloe Harding, business development director at the science park, said one third of the building is under option. The first phase, on the other side of the Metropolitan Cathedral, is fully let.
The four-storey, second-phase building was designed by Liverpool-based architect Falconer Chester Hall. The Liverpool Science Park is a joint venture between Liverpool Archdiocese, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool and is part-financed by the European Union under Merseyside's Objective One ERDF programme, Government Office for the North West and the North West Development Agency.
The latest science park building will be officially opened on 24 June.
