Habiko’s 240-home consultation launched
The joint venture wants to build the affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments at Academy Way in the heart of Warrington.
Habiko, the joint venture between Pension Insurance Corporation, Muse, and Homes England, was launched in 2024.
The consultation process for the 240-home proposal will begin on 28 November and run until 15 December, after which feedback will be reviewed before a planning application is submitted.
AHR Architects is behind the Academy Way project’s design, which seeks to revitalise a brownfield site into a low-carbon and car-free neighbourhood.

The council-owned plot has been selected by the local authority as a strategic location for the development of affordable homes for rent, due to its proximity to pedestrian routes and public transport links.
An unoccupied retail unit currently stands on the site and will need to be demolished.
Joel Chandler, senior development manager at Muse, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing this scheme forward for consultation as part of our commitment to delivering affordable, sustainable homes for rent where they’re needed most.
“The opportunity at Warrington will help address the growing demand for quality housing, and our team is focused on creating a development that not only meets this need but also makes a positive contribution to the local community and its future growth.”
