Footasylum recommits, doubles up at Manchester Arndale
The footwear retailer has signed a new 20-year lease at the retail complex, agreeing to increase the size of its store by around 7,000 sq ft.
Footasylum currently occupies a 9,700 sq ft unit next to Manchester Arndale’s Exchange Square entrance.
With neighbouring Bodycare having gone bust, Footasylum has seized upon the opportunity to spread out, taking the toiletries store. Its new store will span 17,000 sq ft.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, the Arndale’s asset manager, said: “We are thrilled that Footasylum has chosen to not only renew but significantly expand its presence at Manchester Arndale.
“This is a testament to the strength of the centre and its ability to attract and retain leading retail brands.”
Footasylum’s new flagship Manchester store promises an “immersive shopping environment” offering brands including Nike, Adidas, Monterrain, and Dripmade.
Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the retained agents for Manchester Arndale, which attracts around 46m visitors annually.
In recent weeks and months the shopping centre has welcomed several new brands including Arc’teryx, Alo Yoga, and ProDirect.
