Falconer Chester Hall secures double resi consent
The architecture practice has had two residential projects approved at Liverpool’s planning committee, totalling 330 flats in the city centre and Aigburth.
The council has granted consent to the construction of 277 flats on Great Homer Street, designed by FCH on behalf of London-based The Soller Group.
The application proposed three buildings of nine storeys each.
The 1.1-acre site on Great Homer Street is currently occupied by a warehouse used by a car repair company.
The flats will be made up of 178 one-bedroom and 99 two-bedroom units, alongside roof terraces, a garden room and communal facilities. There are also 121 parking spaces planned alongside.
In Aigburth, at the same meeting Liverpool City Council approved proposals for 60 apartments within the Lark Lane Conservation Area.
The scheme, designed by FCH for Vinco Group, will see the retention and conversion of an existing villa, and the construction of a new apartment building on the site of a former coach house and stables.
The development has two frontages onto Alexandra Drive and Aigburth Road. Fifteen two and three-bedroom apartments will be created inside the conversion and extension of 34 Alexandra Drive, while a further 42 apartments will be contained within the new building following the demolition of the coach house and stables at 23 Aigburth Road.
Between the two residential buildings, the existing overgrown gardens will provide lawned and landscaped communal space for residents.
The apartment building will see one and two-bedroom properties across three upper floors, with car parking below on the ground floor together with a gym.
Not looking forward to this one bit, this development is directly opposite my flat, with owners of these apartments being able to look directly into my living room. Not to mention the extra traffic during the build, dust & muck everywhere. There is also the matter of where the tradesmen will be parking during the build, parking is bad enough in this area as it is. Also are these apartments for private sale or part of a housing association? Sorry for being so negative about this build but I’m worried about the impact this will have on me and my family. Development impacts are temporary, people not having a home (or living at home, house sharing) is permanent until resolved. Get a grip.
