Ex-GVA sheds chief launches consultancy

Industrial agent Robert Dunston has launched niche advisory business RGD Consulting.

The company will specialise in development consultancy, agency, project co-ordination, tenant’s representation and lease consultancy work across the industrial sector.

Dunston retired from GVA last summer, having headed the firm’s North West industrial operation for 21 years. He was replaced by Andrew Pexton.

Dunston said: “I’ve been specialising in industrial agency and development consultancy for 38 years and following my recent retirement, I realised that I enjoy the industry too much to call it a day.

“I am relishing the challenge, I have a huge amount of experience and knowledge to offer. There are very few industrial buildings of significance, in the region, that I haven’t seen in the past four decades, so my depth of experience is second to none.

“During my career, I’ve dealt with everything from starter units and cotton mills in the 1980s, the Enterprise Zone experiment of the 1980s and 1990s, which regenerated large parts of Trafford Park and Salford Docks and in effect was the forerunner of what became Salford Quays and Media City.”

More recently, Dunston has worked on schemes including Omega.

He concluded: “I have vast back catalogue of clients and contacts and the goodwill that has been afforded to me in recent weeks has been amazing. I’m looking forward to the challenge on what I am sure will be an exciting new chapter.”
