Eric Wright picked for New Little Mill
In its latest contract win with developer Manchester Life, Eric Wright has been chosen to deliver the conversion of the grade two-listed New Little Mill in Ancoats into 68 apartments.
New Little Mill, which has been vacant for a number of years, will feature a façade retention and a new steel frame built within, alongside a two-storey extension, all of which will host a mix of two and three-bed duplex apartments with roof terraces and winter gardens.
Hoardings have now gone up around the site ahead of a full start on site in September, and the scheme, Manchester Life’s ninth in the Ancoats area, is expected to complete in December 2020.
Eric Wright is currently delivering two other projects for the developer: the 158-bed build-to-rent Sawmill Court; and Vesta, a 171-home scheme for private sale designed by architect Rafael Vinoly.
New Little Mill is next to another ongoing conversion, Murrays’ Mills, which is set to feature 123 one, two, and three-bed apartments and is currently being delivered by contractor Graham, one of Manchester Life’s three preferred companies alongside Eric Wright and Sisk.
The professional team also includes PRP and Deloitte as planner. Manchester Life is a joint venture between Manchester City Council and Manchester City FC owner Abu Dhabi United Group.
Rightly so, they seem to be doing a cracking job around Cutting Room Square.
