Eddisons appoints director

Mike Coogan’s step into the leadership role at the multi-disciplinary consultancy is among three recent promotions within the company’s 15-strong transport planning and highways design team in Manchester.

Coogan joined Eddisons in 2012 and brings more than 25 years of experience in detailed highways design to his new position as director.

Previous positions include associate at WYG Group and principle engineer at SCP.

At Eddisons, civil engineer Coogan is responsible for supporting the planning, co-ordination, and management of the activities of the project team.

Coogan also deals with the procurement, project management, and design of street scene improvements, traffic calming initiatives, development access roads, link roads, junctions, commercial car parks, residential and commercial drainage design, and the production of contract documents.

Also in the company’s Manchester office, Jack Cunningham has been promoted from senior highways technician to senior highways engineer, while Genna Woods has moved up from trainee technician to graduate transport planner.

Partner Phil Wooliscroft, head of Eddison’s transport team, said: “Eddisons is committed to our team’s career development and to nurturing people and enabling them to fulfil their potential, which is also critical to the success of the firm.

“This latest round of promotions is an indication of the breadth and depth of expertise and service that we are able to offer our clients and we expect to be making further new hires over the coming months.”

Eddisons is active across the North West, currently acting as transport consultant on Miller Homes’ 67-unit residential scheme in Coppull, as well as Star Academies’ Manchester Olive School, which were both approved in June.

The firm has three offices across the region, located in Manchester, Stockport, and Liverpool.
