Diocese plans new £4.75m Salford school

St Monica's RC High School in Prestwich will receive a new applied learning centre to be built by 2011.

The school is governed by the Diocese of Salford, which is procuring the project. The new building will be a stand alone two-storey block of 25,000 sq ft gross internal floor area.

The building must achieve a BREEAM 'very good' rating and bidders will be expected to show this can be achieved. A shortlist of up to six contractors is envisaged. Completion is scheduled for June 2011.
