DEP makes city centre move

Landscape consultancy DEP Landscape Architecture is relocating to Manchester city centre following growth in its order book.

DEP has taken offices in Blackfriars House, Parsonage after being based in Trafford Park and Cheadle. The company said that the relocation followed recent business success, new senior appointments and a growing need to be closer to many of the city's leading architectural practices with which it works.

Chris Podmore, director of DEP, said: "We needed bigger offices to cope with a growing team and larger scale projects. As we continue to win work for more of Manchester's leading architects, it made strategic sense to relocate back into the city centre and foster closer relationships with those clients."

DEP specialises in urban regeneration, development and conservation through landscape planning, architecture and land management.

DEP recently won contracts with BAM, Bowsall Construction and Barton Willmore. The firm is working major conservation programmes, including the regeneration of the Bridgewater Canal. DEP also advised on the new masterplan for the Towers business park in Didsbury.

The firm has made two new senior appointments this year with Rory McVean joining as director from Firewall Landscape Consultants. He has 22 years' experience in landscape practices in the UK, Southern Africa and South East Asia.

Associate Emma Podmore recently joined DEP from TPM Landscape and has 14 years' experience in the landscaping industry involved primarily in residential care homes and landscape visual impact assessment work.
