CWAC lets first office at £70m Chester Northgate

Sovereign Corporate & Trustee Services is relocating from Bromborough to take space above Coachworks Arcade.

The financial advisor will take a 1,200 sq ft suite within the council-owned building, whose ground floor is given over to leisure occupiers including Cosy Club.

Stuart Stobie, managing director of Sovereign Corporate & Trustee Services, said: “For a business like ourselves, working with a range of corporate clients and high net worth individuals, it’s really important to work in a setting that reflects the bespoke, high-quality service we provide, and the Coachworks Arcade feels a fitting environment.”

There is around 10,000 sq ft of office space available across four office suites above Coachworks Arcade.

Legat Owen advised the landlord Cheshire West and Chester Council on the deal. RivingtonHark is the development and leasing manager at Chester Northgate.

Will Sadler, director of office agency at Legat Owen, said: “Northgate is a hugely important project for Chester, and takes the city forward in so many ways. The workspace component is an important part of that, and we’re delighted to welcome the first tenant to Coachworks Arcade.”

The long-awaited Northgate complex officially opened in November after decades of failed plans to redevelop the city centre site.

The scheme features a 36,000 sq ft indoor market, which has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors through its doors in the first four weeks of trading.

Cllr Richard Beacham, cabinet member for inclusive growth, economy and regeneration, said: “We are delighted to see the new market thriving and proving such a big hit with visitors, it has been an incredible journey to transform the market and provide such a popular city centre attraction for our traders, residents and visitors alike.

“The market’s popularity means we are having to manage numbers into the building, particularly at weekends, this is to ensure sufficient capacity and seating is available and our traders can cope with demand, please bear with us if your entry is briefly delayed.”

Other elements of Chester Northgate now open include the 800-space mulitstorey car park and restaurants Cosy Club and Zizzi.

A six-screen Picturehouse cinema, BrewDog bar, and coffee shop are yet to open.
