CPUK wins Peel warehouse contract

Construction Partnership UK has been appointed by Peel to a £4.5m contract to create a 50,000 sq ft headquarters for freight carrier Rhenus Logistics.

Boysnope Wharf will occupy three acres next to the Manchester Ship Canal and is due to be fully operational by the end of this year.

Once all the remedial work is completed the two-storey steel frame building will be constructed, and it will be supported by the installation of more than 750 concrete piles. Construction work will also involve improvement to the existing access and provision of a new drainage outfall into the Manchester Ship Canal.

In addition, CPUK Group will provide 16 dock levellers and shelters, a service yard, car parking and external landscaping. The development has been designed by Manchester-based Bate & Taylor Architects.

Steve Burke, managing director of CPUK, said: “This is a high-quality logistics facility that will provide a benchmark for future development on the emerging Port Salford freight terminal site.”
