Countryside and Lovell benefit from HCA Kickstart funding

Stalled housing schemes in Tranmere and Salford will share part of the £51m second wave of Kickstart funding announced by the Homes & Communities Agency.
John Healey, housing minister, said the gap-funding would unlock schemes capable of delivering 2,000 new homes on sites that had previously stalled due to the economic downturn.
In the North West, two schemes were awarded funding:
- Lovell Partnerships, Tranmere, Birkenhead, 56 homes, £1.1m. Part of Housing Market Renewal Initiative. Site preparation works start in November 2009 with completion by March 2011
- Countryside Properties, New Broughton, Salford, 220 homes, £8m, also due for completion March 2011
