Cityheart adds two as projects pile up

Jonny Wrigley and Lauren Gavaghan have joined the Cheshire developer, which has also opened a second office as it steps up work on seveal high-profile schemes.

Following a string of tender successes including Wigan’s Galleries and the residential part of Stockport Interchange, Cityheart has appointed Lauren Gavaghan as development manager.

Gavaghan, who joins from Genr8 Developments and previously worked at Peel Land & Property, will work on schemes including the recently secured £50m residential regeneration scheme in Widnes, as well as looking to secure new opportunities.

Wrigley, whose early career included time at Cushman & Wakefield, Crosby Lend Lease and Nikal, has spent the last decade working in the supported living sector with HB Villages- which he will continue to chair – and Hayes Property Partners. He joins Cityheart as director of the newly formed Cityheart Homes arm.

Cityheart described the last year as its most successful to date, with wins including the £80m redevelopment of the Old River Lane mixed-use site in Bishops Stortford, the £135m Galleries redevelopment in Wigan, with BCEGI, and the Stockport project, on which it is working with Rise Homes.

Adding a Wilmslow office to its Chester headquarters is intended to give the business greater connectivity to service its projects in the North West and London.

“Jonny’s experience in the residential sector will help drive forward our mixed use schemes where residential is an integral part, we are currently developing a mix of more than 1,000 BTR, affordable and open market sales homes across the country.”

Gavaghan said: “Having delivered the £80m Rochdale Riverside regeneration scheme with Genr8 last year, I felt that there was a lot of synergy with Cityheart’s track record of successfully working in public-private partnerships.

“Both its current and potential pipeline of new developments will provide an exciting array of new challenges.”
