Chester architects appointed for Royal Liver Building re-fit

Chester-based Acies has been chosen as the architect to carry out the £5m refurbishment of the historic Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.

The property and construction firm has been appointed to transform the west entrance by enclosing the portico in glass to make a new entrance to the building.

The Royal Liver Building, owned by Royal Liver Assurance Limited, is located on a world heritage site and has Grade 1 listed status. Together with the Cunard and Port of Liverpool, it is known throughout the world as one of Liverpool's Three Graces buildings.

Acies was founded four years ago and has offices in Edinburgh, Chester and Manchester.
