CEG lets 40,000 sq ft in Audenshaw

Enterprise Foods has taken a five-year lease at Commercial Estates Group’s Arrow Trading Estate in Audenshaw, East Manchester, more than quadrupling the size of its operation.

CEG has confirmed that the supplier of craft produce will take 42,200 sq ft at the estate, which lies next to junction 34 of the M60.

Greg Lacey, investment manager at CEG, said: “We have invested £50,000 in the refurbishment of the unit to deliver a turnkey solution designed to ensure Enterprise Foods could operate as quickly as possible. The work provided tailored racking, space for new chillers and a show kitchen as well as refurbished two-storey headquarter offices.

“It has been a real pleasure dealing with the team at Enterprise Foods and I look forward to witnessing the business’s continued expansion from Arrow Trading Estate.”

Enterprise was set up to act as a bridge between small-scale local food and drink producers and national chains, providing accreditation management, account management, marketing support and logistics services to suppliers that have attained listings with grocery groups such as The Co-op.

The company underwent a £30m management buyout in 2014 and said its expansion beyond the 9,000 sq ft it already occupies will help it create 15 new jobs immediately, with more to follow.

Chief executive Andy Peterson said: “The new storage and distribution facility will play a pivotal role in accelerating our growth, enabling us to connect many more of the UK’s most passionate local food and drink producers with a national audience.”

Following the deal, CEG said that just 20,000 sq ft is now available across the 0.73-acre estate.
