CBRE bolsters Manchester offices team in anticipation of sector growth
Matt Shufflebottom has left his role as partner at Knight Frank to become a director at the rival consultancy.
Shufflebottom has departed Knight Frank nine years since joining from Bruntwood, where he started out his career.
During his time at Knight Frank he advised landlords including Salboy, M&G, and Kinrise and found office space in Manchester for the Irish and Spanish consulates, SLR Consulting, and Scarborough Group International.
At CBRE, Shufflebottom will focus on office leasing and occupier mandates. He will work under Joe Rigby, CBRE’s managing director for the North.
“This is a key appointment for us, as we plan to double down on the market following a record breaking year across the region,” Rigby said.
“Matt’s appointment will further cement and support our growth plans within the office agency team and we welcome him at a time when the market is reaching a turning point and expected to gather pace and strength throughout the year.”
CBRE’s offices team also includes director Mark Garner, associate director Frankie Isherwood, head of science and technology for the North Jonathan Lowe, chartered surveyor Luke Fairbank, and graduate surveyor Ciara Dougray.
Shufflebottom said he is looking forward to a fresh challenge.
“[CBRE’s] Manchester team are market leaders in the office agency field and are renowned for providing best in class advice to our clients. I’m looking forward to adding my expertise to the team and building on their success.”
Last year, CBRE’s offices team advised on a number of high profile transactions including at St Michael’s – Manchester’s best performing asset in terms of leasing activity in 2024 – and HBD and GMPF’s Island, which is half let to Virgin Media O2.
