Carey Jones plans 30-strong Manchester studio

Carey Jones, the Leeds-based architectural practice which is opening a Manchester studio in September, aims to reach a staff level of "25 to 30" within the next few years.

A spokeswoman for the firm said the studio will open with five to seven full-time staff, and it hoped to emulate the structure of teams in Leeds and London, which contain around 25 to 30 staff, after five to seven years.

The Manchester office will be headed by Simon Clarke and based in Royal Mills on Redhill Street in the Northern Quarter.

Carey Jones is currently on site with the Townside Bury scheme and Church Wharf scheme in Bolton, both for Ask Developments. The firm is also appointed on Langtree's Kingston House offices and Langtree/David McLean's festival gardens in Liverpool.

Work is also about to start on its upgrade of Alliance & Leicester's Bootle based commercial bank.

The Manchester studio opens on 1 September and there will be a launch party in October.
