Canmoor appoints Pochin to flatten warehouse
Pochin Special Projects, part of Cheshire-based Pochin, has been appointed to demolish an existing industrial unit at Canmoor Development's 5.5 acres development site in Trafford Park, to make way for an industrial and distribution scheme.
Pochin has commenced work on site to bring down the 120,000 sq ft existing industrial unit and prepare the site for the new accommodation. The demolition is scheduled for completion towards the end of January 2011.
Canmoor is anticipating up to 100,000 sq ft of industrial and warehouse accommodations and is likely to submit a planning application this year, once occupiers have been identified.
Antony Pochin, operations director of Pochin Special Projects, said: "Our work in Trafford Park is one of a series of bespoke projects that the team is currently working on in the region. We are currently on site in Knutsford, preparing the accommodation for the new town centre Waitrose Food Store; we have recently completed a £78,000 contract to construct a new aerosol store for NWF Group; plus we are also on site in Gotham near Nottingham, constructing a new storage yard and conducting associated storage works.
"We developed the Pochin Special Projects offer in 2008 in order to be able to offer a bespoke service to clients. Demand continued to grow last year and the varied services that we offer under the Special Projects banner have been extremely well received. We hope to see this continue in 2011."
