Butcher takes director role at Place
Kirsty Butcher has been made product director at Place North West and PlaceTech, as the publications continue to expand.
Butcher will oversee the delivery and development of Place North West and PlaceTech products, projects and operations.
She joined Place North West four years ago as editorial assistant, and has grown the reach of Place North West’s events, website and daily newsletter. Last year she led on the launch of PlaceTech, an international publication covering proptech news.
Butcher joins publisher Paul Unger, commercial director Dino Moutsopoulos and editor Jessica Middleton-Pugh as directors of the company.
Place’s team is now made up of nine full-time staff at the office in Manchester, including event managers Alyce Wood and Laura Davies, and PlaceTech reporter Nicola Byrne. Last week, the company welcomed reporter Chloé Vaughan, who will work across Place North West and PlaceTech.
In a further investment in staff, Charlie Schouten was recently promoted to deputy editor of Place North West. Schouten joined in 2017, and has since made a significant impact on the website’s readership, now more than 150,000 property professionals each month.
Paul Unger, publisher and managing director of Place North West and PlaceTech, said: “Kirsty has made a consistently excellent contribution to the business over the four years she has been at Place, playing a pivotal role in the success of the publications.
“Charlie has had a momentous impact on Place North West, taking readership to new heights and doing an outstanding job of chairing conferences across the region. It’s also a pleasure to welcome new reporter Chloe, a fantastic addition to the team.”
Kirsty Butcher said: “It’s such a privilege to be part of the Place team and a really exciting time for the business, with Place North West continuing to gain loyal readers and event attendees, and PlaceTech gathering momentum in the UK and across the globe.”
Well done.
