Boxpark delays Liverpool opening

Initially due to open this autumn, the food and leisure venue’s ribbon-cutting has been pushed back until next spring.

When asked by Place North West the reasons for the delay, a spokesperson for Boxpark said: “The team is working hard behind the scenes to ensure the design and architecture behind Boxpark Liverpool align with its initial vision.”

As well as announcing the delay, Boxpark has today issued a fresh call out to food traders interested in applying for a spot in the Cains Brewery Village venue.

Boxpark head of new business and partnerships Dan Fullarton said: “Given this is our first Boxpark site outside of London, we feel so passionate about the city and the talent it has to offer to the venue and we are confident we have one of the most unique and exciting offerings coming to the city in 2024.

“We can’t wait to open the doors to this stunning and vibrant destination in early 2024.”

Boxpark’s 21,000 sq ft Liverpool leisure and dining destination, the company’s first outside of London, will be located within the Canning Hall and offer eight commercial kitchens.

The firm signed a 15-year lease on the space last year and won planning approval for the scheme in January.

Boxpark is investing £3.5m into the Liverpool site.

Is this delay due to interference from LCC/Planning Dept

By David

Was looking forward to Boxpark opening this year but next Spring will have to do.
Hopefully they can get it open before the Grand National as surely they will benefit from the massive influx of visitors over that weekend.
