Bovis appoints Carillion director to rebuild northern arm

Construction giant Bovis Lend Lease has appointed a new head of its northern division as it restructures its senior management team.

The northern business reported a loss of £48m in March on problematic contracts in the region and removed former boss Colin Harvey.

The large writedown was made primarily because of problems at the Manchester Joint Hospitals PFI scheme and the Bridgewater Place tower in Leeds.

Lenehan joins from Carillion, where he was managing director of integrated services responsible for major Government and defence contracts.

This will be Lenehan's second spell in the north with Bovis, following an earlier stint as operations director.

Among his priorities will be overseeing the Media City UK contract for Peel Holdings.

Lenehan takes up his post in January.
