Aztec director Paul Ashmore dies at 37
Ashmore passed away due to complications from his cancer treatment. He was described as “strong, resilient and resourceful” by Iain Peacock, the managing director of North West construction firm.
Ashmore joined Liverpool-based Aztec in 2010 as a pre-contracts manager. While working for the office fit-out and refurbishment specialist, he earned both a degree in marketing and a Master of Science in quantity surveying and commercial management. Ashmore was named director as part of a recent management buy-out at Aztec.
“We miss Paul and his dynamism, enthusiasm as well as a genuine passion for everything he did,” Peacock said. “Paul was so enthusiastic during our recent MBO at Aztec, the driving force to a future he could mould.
“Paul was strong, resilient and resourceful,” Peacock continued. “He was also very well thought of by his colleagues, clients and anyone who has the pleasure to meet him. It will take a long time for us to come to terms with the loss of Paul, he will be remembered with huge fondness.”
Ashmore is survived by his wife Justine and two daughters, Claudia and Naomi.
Couldn’t believe this news when I was told – was only speaking to him days before when he seemed to be getting more positive news. I have been in property for over 20 years and during this time I can honestly say that Paul was one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met with a rare humility to everything that he did. When I set up my company last year Paul was one of the first people to contact me to offer support and guidance which he continued to do even through what must of been some very dark times. The fact that he has now sadly passed away at the age of 37 is an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to his young family and all his friends and colleagues. RIP Paul.

Very sad news. Paul was a lovely man and i am shocked by this today. One of those people you never minded taking a call from and having a chat. A chap that genuinely cared about his company and the projects they delivered.
My condolences to Pauls family and everyone who knew him.
