Awards: Stockport Council, Altrad NSG, CCI winners
Woodbank Wood in Stockport won a silver award in the Royal Forestry Society's Excellence in Forestry Awards 2013. Stockport Council's Woodbank Wood, which was entered in the urban forestry category in the North West awards, runs adjacent to the River Goyt from Woodbank Memorial Park near Stockport town centre towards Poise Brook and Chadkirk.
Scaffolding and industrial services firm Altrad NSG has achieved its eighth consecutive Gold Standard for excellence in health and safety. The Deeside-based firm, which operates at sites across the UK, was awarded a Gold Medal for Occupational Health & Safety, by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
The North West construction industry gathered last week at the Palace Hotel in Manchester for the seventh annual North West Construction Awards. Hosted by the Centre for Construction Innovation, the Constructing Excellence Centre for the North West the night saw 16 award winners and eight highly commended finalists rewarded for their accomplishments.
