Assura hires CFO from housebuilder

Primary care developer and investor Assura has appointed Jayne Cottam from Morris Homes to its board as chief financial officer.

Cottam is expected to join the Warrington-based company before the end of October. Jonathan Murphy has continued to act in the role of CFO since his promotion earlier this year to chief executive, and will do so until Cottam joins.  

Cottam, a CIMA qualified accountant, joins Assura from Morris, one of the UK’s largest housing developers, where she is currently finance director for operations.

She was previously director of finance for the Europe division of European Metal Recycling, one of the world’s largest metal recyclers.

Murphy said: “Jayne brings a wealth of relevant experience and her financial expertise will prove extremely valuable as we continue to deliver shareholder value and pursue our strategy of investing to support the UK’s primary healthcare infrastructure.”
