Ascend appoints head of BTR leasing

Ashleigh Hamilton takes on the role at the single-family build-to-rent property management firm from Dandara Living, where she was head of leasing for more than five years.

As head of BTR leasing, she is assisting with the launching of a “significant pipeline of developments,” according to a press release, over the next 18 months. She also manages the lead-to-lease process for Ascend Properties’ 7,000+ portfolio.

Hamilton is a member of the senior leadership team as well, joining fellow Dandara veteran Paul Borrman – who joined Ascend as managing director in November. She will be based out of the company’s Sale office.

Reflecting on Hamilton’s recruitment, Bormann said: “We pride ourselves on the effectiveness of our market-leading leasing platform, and Ashleigh’s arrival represents a significant strengthening of our capabilities in this area.

“Her experience and expertise will prove hugely valuable as we look to further expand and improve the service both our clients and residents receive, and will reinforce Ascend’s position as the leading third-party operator of institutional BTR.”

Ascend clients include Sigma Capital Group, Gatehouse Investment Management, The PRS REIT, and TPG Real Estate Partners. In the past year, Ascend has overseen the launch of 36 developments, negotiated 4,500 lease renewals, and recruited residents for 2,950 homes.

Hamilton’s hire is the latest senior recruitment for the company. In addition to Bormann’s appointment in November, the firm also hired commercial director Lee Hill in January and head of experience and product Maxwell Guthrie in March.
