ArcMedia hires creative director

ArcMedia, the Lancashire-based CGI studio specialising in architectural 3D visualisation, has appointed Brett Fisher, formerly at The Neighbourhood in Manchester.

The company said it was enjoying a surge in demand from developers of super-prime residential projects and luxury yachts. New project wins include delivering 25 CGIs and two animated films for a new luxury development in Dubai and 30 CGIs for a collection of residential conversions in central London.

The business is based in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, and counts among its clients Marcus Cooper Group, Oakmayne Properties, Accouter Design, Great Marlborough Estates, Argent Design, BWD Interior Design, Richmond Square Group and Princess Yachts. The team’s work has featured in national and international marketing campaigns and can regularly be seen in the Sunday Times property pull-out.

Ben Bancroft, managing director, said: “The last few years have seen a significant increase in our workload, as investment in prime residential property development has soared, particularly in London where a good portion of our work is coming from. Word-of-mouth recommendation has been great, as the images have done the talking for us, in turn this has led to us picking up projects for international developments in Barbados, New York and Dubai.

“Developers are no longer simply using CGI to put a picture on the front of a brochure. Clients at this end of the market want a true photographic representation of how the building will appear, what the bespoke interior design schemes will look like, how each surface will be treated, precise details of furniture designs and how the room will be dressed, right down to the cutlery, ornaments and artwork. Our images are not only used to market the properties for sale, they are also being used as part of the interior design process. Where once we would provide a couple of images, now there is a requirement for a dozen which is a great development, and means we are busier than ever.

“We have some exceptional 3D artists within the team. Brett’s artistic talent and commercial experience makes him a fantastic addition and he’s already assisting with some exciting new projects. As creative director he will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality of the studio’s outputs and will support junior artists in their development.”

Fisher added: “ArcMedia has a reputation for producing excellent CGIs and is one of the country’s best firms for architectural visualisation. Some of the projects are incredible and the attention to detail is fantastic. I was keen to work with a talented team and on projects that would test my skill and encourage creativity, and that’s exactly what I’ve found.”

Established in 2002 by Ben Bancroft, the arrival of director Chris Jacks in 2005 heralded the firm’s first expansion. Now eight-strong, the business is based in a purpose-built studio in Poulton-le-Fylde Lancashire.
