AO.com adds to logistics network with Alsager deal
The online electricals retailer has agreed terms with ESR Europe for a 325,000 sq ft unit offering access to M6.
Located on Lawton Road, 3.7 miles east of Junction 16 of the key north-south motorway, the Alsager 325 unit is billed by ESR as equidistant between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent and a prime spot from which to serve the North West and Midlands.
DTRE and CBRE were joint letting agents on the 324,838 sq ft facility. Savills represented AO.com.
ESR Europe is the European platform of ESR Group. The operator has agreed a five-year lease with Bolton-headquartered AO.com for the high-bay facility, which will be used as a stock warehouse rather than a 24/7 delivery hub.
Alsager 325 comprises a 265,979 sq ft warehouse, together with more than 23,500 sq ft of integrated office accommodation across ground and first floors. Other facilities include a gatehouse.
The facility was formerly occupied by bathroom products firm Geberit, which relocated in late 2025.
Roun Barry, chief executive of ESR Europe, said: “As asset manager, our focus is on delivering strong outcomes for our client by positioning assets to meet occupier demand.
“Alsager 325’s specification, location and connectivity made it an attractive proposition for AO.com, and we are pleased to have completed a letting that works for both the occupier and our client.”
Dave Ashwell, managing director of AO Logistics, said: “This facility at Alsager will play an important role in supporting AO.com’s continued growth strategy. The building’s scale and excellent motorway access make it a strong operational fit with our North West warehouse space, as we continue to optimise our logistics network.”

Equidistant from Crewe and Stoke – phew. All it needs now is a Linton Travel Tavern, a 12 in plate and a Mini Metro (which I am absolutely not driving).

Wonderful, more traffic through the heart of an already congested town. Why not one of the many empty units on Radway Green. They offer excellent access to the motorway!

Will the council put a weight limit thru Alsager ? Or shall we see more congestion and problems for residents especially those who live on the main roads

Never mind the amount of HGVs , there will also be 100s of delivery vans every day going through Alsager

For all those moaning-Twyford operated out of the warehouse for 32 years between 1993-November 2025 so all the moaning about HGVs and extra traffic is absoloute tosh as it won’t be any different than it was with Twyford’s. Wouldn’t like to live on that new estate now though as AO will be running a 24 hour operation whereas Twyford was 7am-3pm.🤣
