Anwyl Homes secures green light for 103 homes

The housebuilder can get to work on the second phase of its transformation of the former Winnington Business Park following Cheshire West and Chester Council’s approval.

Phase one of Anwyl Homes’ Winnington Place scheme is currently underway to deliver 124 houses on the site off Winnington Avenue. The first phase was approved in September 2020.

Phase two will deliver a further 103 houses, featuring a mix of one- to four-bedroom properties.

There will be four one-, eight two-, 47 three-, and 44 four-bedroom houses.

Of the 103 homes, 16 will be affordable.

Each home will be provided with an electric vehicle charging point.

John Grime, managing director of Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: “Securing planning approval for the second phase of Winnington Place means we can continue to redevelop a former brownfield site to provide much-needed new homes.

“Along with housing, we’ll also be enhancing the environment surrounding the homes with more than 30,000 sq ft of open space, including a wildlife corridor, plus allotments and play areas for residents to enjoy.”

Anwyl bought the 12-acre site next to Winnington Business Park from FI Real Estate Management for an undisclosed sum in February 2020.

Work is expected to continue on site until late 2026.

Once complete, the housing development will sit alongside FIREM’s plans to redevelop Winnington Business Park into a mixed-use scheme including commercial space, retail units, and a family pub and restaurant.

Another simply vile, cheap cookie-cutter group of ‘homes’. Plasticky, small windows, neon colour brick, just yuk. When are we going to insist on some beauty and standards?! I can smell the polypropylene from here. Grim. Just grim.

Or, @Charles Singer, homes people like and want to live in…

By Sceptical

How boring, we should be building pre fab houses in volume with modern designs, big windows, green energy, grey water use and underground garages like in France.
