Alpha underway in Wirral with largest project to date

Vistry has started work on the specialist housing provider’s £18.5m, 80-flat extra care scheme off Pasture Road in Moreton, part of a wider 124-home project that also features properties from Magenta Living.

Alpha Living’s Driftwood Gardens project, featuring a mix of one- and two-bed apartments for over 55s, is the company’s largest scheme to date.

Sally Parsons, chief executive of Alpha Living, said: “To meet the vital need for affordable extra care housing on the Wirral, our partnership will deliver a high-quality development, helping to maintain standards of independent living for residents as well as alleviating the pressure on local NHS services.

“Together, we are helping to build and sustain communities, with the new housing offer on this site forming part of the wider regeneration of the area, including the new Lidl supermarket and works to Moreton Library.”

The scheme will be ready for occupation by the summer of 2027.

The four-storey care home will be constructed alongside Magenta Living’s 44-home scheme, which features nine properties for affordable rent and 35 for shared ownership.

The Pasture Road scheme has been backed by Homes England and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority with grants totalling £6.5m.
