All-clear for 250 Preston houses
SME housebuilder Hollins Homes’ plans to build off Bartle Lane in Lower Bartle have been approved.
Working with MPSL Planning & Design, Hollins had submitted a hybrid application, seeking outline consent for 195 homes and full consent for a first phase of 56 dwellings.
The 18-acre site, south of Bartle Lane and west of Sandy Lane, is currently open grassland and is allocated for housing in the Preston Development Plan.
There would be access to the under-construction east-west link road via Sandy Lane, with a Section 106 contribution to the highway scheme being part of the conditions of consent.
There is an approved site on a neighbouring plot and also a site under construction nearby. The site’s frontage to Bartle Lane is between the Woodplumpton tennis and bowls club, and the former Woodlands farm, now a housing site.
The first phase includes six five-bedroom houses, 17 four-bedroom houses, 27 three-bedroom houses and six two-bed mews homes. Seventeen affordable homes are included.
Hollins’ plans had been put forward in autumn 2021, but were pushed back by planners due to minor errors in documentation.
