Rochdale signs off 158 affordable homes

MCI Developments has received the all-clear from councillors to build 48 apartments and 110 houses on 12 acres of Trub Farm off Manchester Road.

Rochdale Council’s planning committee had voted in favour of the scheme during Thursday’s meeting. The decision was in line with officer recommendation, with construction set to move forward once a legal agreement is reached between the council and developer.

MCI’s fully affordable development will also include car parking for residents, private gardens, and public open space. A cycle and pedestrian path linking the neighbourhood to the adjacent Rochdale Canal towpath is also featured.

The apartments are evenly split between one and two bedrooms. They will be situated in two three-storey apartment blocks.

As for the houses, 56 will have two bedrooms, 46 will have three, and eight will have four. The homes are to be either semi-detached houses or terraced.

Pegasus was the planner for the scheme. Other consultants included E3P, TPA Landscape Architects, Design for Security, AES Sustainability Consultants, ELLUC Projects, Adapt Heritage, Miracle Design and Play, Eddisons and Roger Hannah.

The word ” the ” is missing from the first paragraph . Why is the grammar being used by your writers worsening almost by the week at the moment ? Mind you , it is a trend that is all across the main stream media at the moment . Tut tut , must do better .

Thank you for your comment. The story has been fixed to include the missing “the”. Clearly I should have done a closer second read before pressing publish! Apologies that, in this instance, my writing fell below our standards. As always, thank you for reading and engaging.

Could they get those houses any closer to the railway line. With a bit more consideration for the residents, longer gardens could have made lessened the impact and be more green.
