Zara adds to Liverpool presence
Grosvenor has announced that Zara is to upsize in Liverpool ONE to create a 27,221 sq ft regional flagship, more than one third larger than its existing store, on South John Street.
Boux Avenue will relocate to a 2,821 sq ft store on South John Street's upper level to accommodate Zara's growth. Boux Avenue's new store is due to open in late spring and Zara in the autumn.
Miles Dunnett, head of asset management at Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, which owns Liverpool ONE, said: "Zara has been seeking a larger store in Liverpool ONE for some time due to the strength of the brand's performance. Working closely with the [Zara parent company] Inditex team, we have created their ideal store, one that allows the Zara brand to be brought to life in what will be their new regional flagship.
"Zara is the latest in a series of brands to upsize at Liverpool ONE, joining Ted Baker and Coast in expanding to accommodate demand from consumers."
Liverpool ONE footfall rose by 5.7% and sales by 7.5% in the year-to-date compared to the same period in 2013.
Cushman & Wakefield and Tushingham Moore acted for Liverpool ONE. Inditex dealt directly and Colliers acted for Boux Avenue.
