Auction for CUC closes next week
Mason Owen is inviting best bids for the 158,000 sq ft Contemporary Urban Centre in the Baltic Triangle area of central Liverpool.
The large converted warehouse has a guide price of £7m and the deadline for best bids is Tuesday 1 May.
Andrew Owen, director of Mason Owen, said the landmark building had generated a good level of interest from investors with a cross-section of uses in mind. The size of the building makes a mixture of uses likely.
The freehold of the building is owned by People Can, formerly called Novas Scarman, a charity for young and homeless people. Liverpool City Council has a long leasehold on part of the building.
Novas spent nearly £20m of charitable funds, including public sector grants, renovating the building. The scheme contained offices, conference facilities, bars and restaurants, a 120-seat cinema and a 430-capacity music venue. CUC opened in 2008 and closed at the start of 2012.
The building is offered with full vacant possession.
