Zara to grow Liverpool ONE store by 14,000 sq ft

The Inditex-owed brand is taking over the former Vintage Standards unit on South John Street, increasing its footprint from 27,200 sq ft to 42,000 sq ft.

Zara’s Liverpool ONE expansion demonstrates the 42-acre retail destination’s appeal to big brands, according to Grosvenor.

“Zara choosing to increase their investment in Liverpool ONE is a testament to the location’s reputation as a destination for flagships,” said Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Grosvenor.

“As one of Liverpool ONE’s leading retailers, we have no doubt that the upsized anchor store will only serve to strengthen Zara’s sustained demand and loyal customer base in Liverpool.”

Zara’s 14,000 sq ft expansion was made possible following the closure of Vintage Standards in the unit next door. The retailer shut up shop last month after less than a year of trading.

The expansion also increases the total trading footprint of Inditex-owned brands within the scheme to 68,000 sq ft. Other group companies at Liverpool ONE include Bershka, Stradivarius, and Pull&Bear.

Hopefully one day we will knock down the Arndale and replace it with something like Liverpool One or Leeds Trinity

This is more positive news for Liverpool One, do they have anyone lined up for the former Flannels store I wonder, as Cricket do not appear to be locating there now.

I would encourage the liverpool one Lego store to expand and turn into a concept store with activities and displays etc- people travel for miles around to visit stores like that

Always thought it was a shame they got rid of their Home offering in Liverpool – surely that would be a pull for people given how big homeware is now…
