Boxpark confirms Liverpool opening date

The food and leisure venue will open its doors in the Baltic Triangle with a launch party on Friday 19 April, followed by a weekend festival.

Based in Canning Hall as part of the Cains Brewery Village, the venue spans span 21,000 sq ft, with a 5,500 sq ft external terrace for al fresco dining and intimate events.

Having agreed a 15-year lease at the site, Boxpark says it is investing more than £5m into the Baltic Triangle, with eight independent traders from the city and surrounding areas to be announced for the venue in the coming weeks.

This will be the first Boxpark to open outside of London.

Simon Champion, chief executive of Boxpark said: “It’s a special moment for us knowing that the opening date for Boxpark Liverpool is just right around the corner.

“The team have been working hard to ensure our first opening outside of London will be as impactful as we had envisioned when originally planning Boxpark Liverpool.

“We’re transforming Canning Hall and bringing job opportunities into the area, which we’re incredibly excited about.”

Steve Rotheram, Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor, added: “Our area is an international destination with a world-class reputation and a thriving visitor economy – which is worth more than £5bn a year and supports over 50,000 local jobs.

“The Baltic Triangle is one of our area’s great urban regeneration success stories and is now a hub of vibrant and creative venues.”

Wonder if Steve shared with Simon when the Baltic station would open , or even what stage it was at with planning. There’s a lot of new residents living on Parliament St and more to come, and I am sure a lot of them are excited about Boxpark and the new Baltic station too.

I think the Mayor announced only last week that he’s aiming for a late 2025 opening of the new Liverpool Baltic station.
