Walker steps up at Seddon as Jackson bids farewell
Peter Jackson has left the construction firm after more than two decades, the latter part spent as managing director of the housing partnerships division, and will be replaced by Mark Walker.
After seven years with the business, Walker has been promoted from his role as commercial director to head up the Seddon’s housing partnerships team as managing director.
His new role will see him lead the family-owned contractor’s work with social housing providers across the North and Midlands.
“Seddon has a proud history of working with landlords to build new homes and regenerate neighbourhoods while putting local people at the heart of its work, creating jobs and investing in communities,” Walker said. “I’m proud to be able to continue that work.”
He added: “We know housing associations and councils are under pressure to step up delivery, while continuing to invest in current homes. We also know the operational, governance and financial challenges those pressures bring, and our aim is always to work in partnership to unlock development opportunities, support with capacity and skills, and make sure tenants drive change and investment in the homes and places where they live.”
Walker replaces Jackson who rejoined Seddon in 2005 after a seven-year spell with the business as a senior quantity surveyor earlier in his career.
During a second stint falling just shy of 21 years, Jackson has held several senior roles including chief operating officer and managing director.
Jonathan Seddon, chief executive of Seddon, added: “I am delighted to congratulate Mark on his appointment. He has played a pivotal role in shaping our Housing Partnerships business over recent years and has the experience, values and leadership to continue its growth.
“This success has been built by a strong leadership team, and I want to recognise the significant contributions of Peter Jackson, Richard Sterling, and Tony Clark, who together with Mark have worked to strengthen the business and position it for the future.
“I would also like to sincerely thank Peter Jackson for his outstanding contribution to Seddon over two decades. His leadership, alongside the wider team, has left the business in a very strong position, and his work alongside Mark has ensured a smooth transition and a clear platform for the future.”
