Wain Homes purchases plot for 70-home Farriers Chase

The 6.5-acre site off Wigan Road already has permission for the development of a range of two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom houses.

Wain Homes has now acquired the land from a private owner in order to progress the scheme. Of the 70 properties to be built, 30% will be made affordable adding to Clayton-le-Woods’ housing stock.

Work is expected to start on Farriers Chase in late spring this year. The first homes are due to be on sale by autumn.

Warrington-based Wain Homes’ last Chorley scheme was the Whittle-le-Woods Richmond Park development.

A spokesperson for Wain Homes said: “Returning to this part of Lancashire sees Wain Homes creating another sustainable new community in its heartland, having built its first ever property in Standish more than 50 years ago.

“We are expecting high demand for our energy-efficient homes in Clayton-le-Woods.”

Legal agreements stipulate that Wain Homes must contribute to nearby sports facilities.
